Dance teachers recognised by another dance awarding society

The following qualifications have been approved and may be used to apply via this route:

• ISTD Level 4 Diploma in Dance Education (DDE)
• IDTA Level 4 Diploma in Dance Teaching
• BBO Level 5 Diploma in Dance Teaching
• DBfT Dance Pedagogical Certificate for Professional Dancers (TPZ)

You will be asked to attach a copy of your qualification certificate when you apply, which our team will verify before your application can be accepted.

The fee for new teachers joining via this route includes a £150/€170 joining fee. This fee covers the additional administration required for new teachers who have not come through the RAD qualification route. The joining fee applies to your first year only, and you will pay only the RAD Registered Teacher fee when you renew.

Once your application is received it will be reviewed by our team and you will be contacted usually within 7 working days. If your application is accepted, you can become a Registered Teacher immediately following payment of the membership and joining fee.

If we have questions about your application it may take longer to review, please allow up to 28 days.

If you have a Level 4 qualification that is not currently on the approved list, we will be reviewing additional courses periodically. Please look out for further information about this coming soon. In the meantime, you can express your interest in joining via this route.
