Bursary applications are now open for The Fonteyn 2025
Bursaries are now available to support applicants to The Margot Fonteyn International Ballet Competition.
We are able to offer up to 20 candidates with awards of between £1000 – £2000 for our flagship competition, this year being held in São Paulo, Brazil from 11 – 19 October.
Each bursary is designed to contribute to one or more of the following:
- Equipment, costume, dance wear and other sundry costs
- Costs of travel to and from the competition
We also have the opportunity for 10 UK-based candidates only to access free costume hire for the competition. We can only offer this as the company is also UK-based and unable to travel to Brazil. If you would like to be considered for support with costume hire, please indicate this in the application form.
Key dates
- Bursary applications open: Monday 24 March
- Bursary applications close: Monday 14 April (18:00 UK time)
- Candidate applications close: Monday 19 May (18:00 UK time)
- Bursary applications close: Monday 14 April
- Classes and coaching session: from Sunday 12 October at Estudio de Ballet Cisne Negro (São Paulo)
- Semi-finals: Thursday 16 and Friday 17 October, at Auditório Ibirapuera (São Paulo)
- Final: Sunday 19 October, at Auditório Ibirapuera (São Paulo)
