Let’s Dance: A Day of Dance Classes with Royal Academy of Dance

Join the Royal Academy of Dance on Sunday 2 March 2025, for a day of dance classes in support of Let’s Dance, the inspiring initiative led by Angela Rippon to get the nation moving. Whether you can join us online or in-person, we hope there is something for everyone to enjoy.

All classes are free.

Schedule of classes

• 10.30am–11.15am | Family Dance Movement (2½–3 years)
  Bring the whole family together for an engaging and joyful dance session. Using lively music, the classes guarantee to capture the children’s and adult’s imagination. No experience required.
• 11.30am–12.15pm | Kids Hip Hop (ages 8 to 12 years)*
  High-energy and stylised, this class will have kids grooving to the beat and learning hip-hop. Routines in the class incorporate movements such as popping, locking, funk, jamming and hip hop and are performed to commercial and popular music. 
• 1.15pm-2pm | Move to the Musicals (Over 18s)*
  Step into the spotlight with a lively class inspired by the magic of musical theatre. Open to all adults, this session will have you dancing a variety of jazz and musical theatre exercises to show-stopping tunes. 
• 2.15pm–3pm | Silver Swans (Over 55s)*
  A fun ballet-inspired class designed for older learners (55+), encouraging movement and creativity at your own pace. We welcome all older learners of any ability, whether you have briefly dabbled or are a complete novice.
• 3.15pm–4pm | General Ballet (over 18)
  Discover the joy of ballet with this general level ballet class. This class is a mixed-level class that’s suitable for beginners and those with some dance experience.

*Our Kids Hip Hop, Move to the Musicals, and Silver Swans classes are now full. You can still register your interest in attending these classes below and be placed on a waitlist. Our events team will let those on the waitlist know when a space is available.

How to take part

  You can take part online by heading to our YouTube channel on the day. There is no need to register for online participation.
• In-person
  There are limited spaces to join us in person at the RAD’s headquarters, 188 York Road, London, SW11 3JZ. Click below to register for a free place to join us in person.
