Aims:

The aims of this webinar are to:

  • Explore in-depth, adage steps/movements that feature through the RAD levels through, discussion, demonstration, & practical tasks
  • Revitalise understanding of adage vocabulary and heighten motivation through interactive sharing of ideas

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of the webinar, you will have;

  • Revised analysis and recognised progression from a selection of adage steps from the RAD syllabi
  • Be more aware of how posture, weight placement, line, spatial awareness, and coordination of port de bras, plus musicality can improve the precision and quality of movement required of adage
  • Be revitalised in the approach to teaching adage steps from the RAD syllabi
  • Feel included in the RAD teaching Membership

Recommended preparation:

Some prior reflection and identification of steps that teachers are unsure of or wish to question.

Take an adage step, consider the following: a. Preparation weight transfer from two legs to one b. The posture as the height of the extension increases c. The feeling of line through the body in the given end pose or position   d. The anticipation of port de bras e. How use of space/alignment/turning can affect control, weight placement and line.

Have available and or revise the adage section of The Foundations of Classical Ballet Technique:
