Over 250,000 RAD exams are taken annually. Only qualified RAD Registered Teacher Status (RTS) members can enter students for prestigious RAD exams. Our exams are globally recognised as a benchmark of excellence by teachers, dancers, and parents around the world. Exams can be taken in-person or online, and we offer a diverse range of exam options and assessments to suit the needs of dancers of all ages and abilities.

RAD Member
Anyone can become an RAD Member! Join like-minded students and a global community of dance enthusiasts. You’ll be:
- Working towards graded RAD examinations
- Taking RAD or Silver Swans classes
- Interested in the RAD and the work we do

RAD Member Plus
For students who have taken the next step in their exam journey at vocational level. You’ll have:
- Passed an RAD vocational exam
- Enrolled on any RAD Programme of study
- An Intermediate Level Certificate in Benesh
From $220
RAD Registered Teacher
For dance teachers who meet our professional standards. You will be:
- Trained as a dance teacher with the RAD
- Completed one of our access routes
- Trained as a dance teacher with one of our recognised dance awarding societies.

RAD Teacher
For RAD-qualified teachers not currently working, working in other sectors, FoE graduates yet to start teaching, or retired teachers.
You get to access CPD courses and the latest resources, and receive all e-newsletters and publications, while keeping connected to the teaching profession.
Benesh International Member
Benesh Movement Notation (BMN) is a system for documenting human movement.
We support the dance community by guarding choreographic copyrights, educating upcoming choreologists, and nurturing the BMN community.

RAD Student
If you’re studying on a Faculty of Education programme, then you’re entitled to free Student Membership while you study.
You can upgrade to RAD Member Plus at any time in your studies at a reduced rate.

RAD Life Member
To qualify for Life Membership you must have held at least 42 years of full membership and have passed your RAD Advanced 1 Vocational Graded Examination (previously the Intermediate Major Examination).
Life membership begins following the completion of your 42nd year of full membership.
